After many trips to Moab, I became interested in the area north of I-70 and east of Price known as the
Book Cliffs. I began exploring around the Nine Mile Canyon area, linking Highway 6 with US 40 but what
interested me most was the remote area near the eastern border of Utah. Soon I began looking at maps
working out a way to link Vernal with I-70. During the run I was grateful for my GPS which kept us on
track in the many deep canyons and confusing intersections. The topo maps led us to a fantastic campsite
on a forgotten mining road.
