I purchased the 4Runner January 11, 1994. It had 63254.9 miles when I picked it up.
Its first trip to Moab was in February, 1994. Moab had been hit by one of their worst snow storms.
It made for some cold biking.
The first modification (besides the bike rack) was a 2" suspension lift. The Downey springs and torsion
bars were installed April, 1995.
Its first major four-wheeling trip was to Hole In The Rock in April, 1995. It struggled due to limited
flex and open differentials. I considered selling it.
Lockers, front and rear, along with 4.88 gears were installed September, 1996. This has been a dramatic
improvement to the 4Runner's off-road performance.
In October, 1996 I returned to Hole In The Rock. This time the 4Runner amazed me with its new off-roading
abilities.
In April, 1997, I attended the 5th annual 4Runner Jamboree in California. Since then I have attended
the 6th, 7th, and 8th 4Runner Jamborees.

In November, 1997, the 4Runner hit a deer near I-70 on the way to the Grand Staircase Monument. Fortunately
we were able to keep going.
The 4Runner proved its reliablity when I used it to tow a car to Los Angeles in May, 1998. It didn't
break any speed limits getting there.
The deer damage was repaired and it was quickly primered black in time for the 6th annual 4Runner Jamboree,
July, 1998.

In January, 1999, I replaced the sagging Downey springs with NWOR 3" springs. The springs were too stiff
and gave me too much lift so I removed a leaf.
After my 31" BFG All Terrains wore out with 40k+ miles, I installed 32" BFG Mud Terrains in January,
1999. I have had no problems with these tires.
After much experimenting I finally got the NWOR springs to flex respectably. However two leaves in the
right pack broke within a few months.
In April, 1999 at Jeep Safari, I drove the Golden Spike trail for the first time, at night. It was unplanned
since we lost the way back to Poison Spider.
In April, 1999 I installed an ARB bumper for deer protection and a Warn XD9000 winch for some peace of
mind on my solo trips. Hopefully I never use them.
In June, 1999, the 4Runner broke a torsion bar mount in the Grand Staircase Monument. This has been
the only breakage I have had with the IFS.
Later in June after reparing the torsion bar mount, I returned to the Grand Staircase Monument and conquered
Recreation Road 262 on my own.
In March, 2000, I replaced the busted trailer hitch and twisted stock tinfoil bumper with an All-Pro
rear bumper.
The 4Runner had a burnt valve so RMH4X4 performed a valve job, replaced the head gasket and t-belt December,
2000, two years after the Toyota dealer did.
In October, 2001, PIAA 80 Pro XT off-road lights were installed along with PIAA Super White headlight
bulbs and a Painless Wiring headlight harness.
The new redesigned BFG Mud Terrains replaced my old set, which had more than 50k miles, in October, 2001.
So far I really like these tires.
