For the past 4 years I've participated in the 4Runner Jamborees in California. It is a great chance
for me to meet fellow four wheelers, check out 4Runner modifications, and see places I wouldn't have
seen other wise. The 2000 Jamboree was held in the Stoddard Valley OHV area near Barstow. The 1996
Jamboree was held in the same area. We took a similar route as in '96 except this time we were led through
more challenging sections. I was humbled.

Sunday's route proved to be difficult even for the experts so I decided to be a spectator. All Pro's
4Runner was quite impressive with its low gearing and great clearance. After the professionals were
done showing off I asked some of my new 4Running friends to join me on a run up Odessa Canyon. Odessa
is one of my favorites and I wasn't going home without doing it. This was a great finish to a fantastic
weekend of four-wheeling.
